The Tonkin Palace (now the Government Guest House) was built in 1918, with ancient French architectural style, and was once the Palace of the Governor of Tonkin and then the Palace of the Imperial Commissioner of Tonkin. In 1945, President Ho Chi Minh came here to work, the building was called the Tonkin Palace (Bac Bo Phu).


The Tonkin Palace has three floors, including a basement, but only part of the first floor is open for visitors to visit and learn about the building through posters on the wall. The visiting space is small but always crowded with visitors from morning to afternoon.

This unique architectural space opens to visitors for the first time from November 9-17. With the theme of Creative Crossroads, the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024 brings to the public interesting creative works based on Hanoi's outstanding architectural heritage. Ethnic Travel

There are exhibitions, installations, and displays here to introduce visitors to the history and structure of the building.

People were eager to explore an architectural space full of nostalgia for the past and filled with new designs. According to the Organizing Committee, the number of visitors was quite large, with 2,000 people coming on November 10 alone.

The Tonkin Palace is currently the place to serve the foreign reception activities of the Vietnam government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The exterior of the Tonkin Palace is where the exhibition complex is displayed, with 43 glass panels forming a circular arc that guides visitors. The glass material allows viewers to see through the clear, fresh colors to see the unique sculptures in the exhibition.
